In 2025, Freedman Consulting wound down What Works Plus in response to the evolving needs of the implementation support landscape. Please find highlights of the collaborative’s work available here and in the review of our accomplishments and impact here.

Supporting equitable implementation of federal infrastructure, climate, and economic development funding by providing knowledge-building support and coordination opportunities to philanthropy.

Responding to once-in-a-generation partnership opportunities.

The What Works Plus (WW+) funder collaborative serves as a coordination hub across philanthropy, non-profits, and different levels of government to advance equity and climate resilience by addressing gaps in the implementation of ARPA, BIL, CHIPS, and IRA funding.

We create opportunities for funders to share updates and learn from each other, develop investment strategies, and help design and pilot high-value, gap-filling initiatives that result in better outcomes for communities, workers, and small businesses.

WW+ is hosted and staffed by Freedman Consulting, LLC, which provides strategic consulting services to foundations and nonprofit organizations.
